Right now I’m in the midst of running a “Kick Sugar to the Curb” challenge. For the whole month, the participants are giving up lots of the stuff that fuels the Western World.
Needless to say, it’s getting creative and they are asking me for good alternatives to “crowd out” sugar. That means we’re focusing on all the good stuff we CAN have and the sugar will fall by the wayside.
So, in their honor, here is a delicious smoothie…you’ll never miss added sweeteners!
1 1/2 cups frozen cherries
Juice from 1/2 lemon
Small handful parsley (extra help with detox)
1 1/2-2 cups baby spinach
1 banana or avocado for creaminess
1 Tbsp. chia seeds
1 cup water or almond milk
1 Tbsp. cocoa powder or cacao (preferred)
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend for about a minute until smooth and creamy.
