Beach Hair in a Bottle (the Natural Way)

I just returned from two weeks in Florida to lead a yoga retreat on the beach.  Upon my return, one thing I realized I missed was my hair and how it felt and flowed thanks to the salt water.  There are a lot of products now on the market that are about $20-$30 per bottle so I decided to make my own.  Plus, when you make your own, you know you getting all natural, safe hair care!  Here’s the basic recipe:

2 cups of warmed water (not boiling but enought to dissolve the salts)

4 Tbsp. Epsom salts

1 tsp. sea salt

2 tsp. aloe gel (at most natural markets)

1 tsp. conditioner (what you already have in the shower will do)

Mix all the above ingredients until the salts dissolve and place in a large spray bottle.  Once out of the shower, comb through your hair and apply liberally.  Air dry is best but blow drying worked great for me as well.

Here’s how my beach hair came out…lots of body and texture for pennies 🙂
